I tend to avoid checking my phone because it's too heartbreaking when I see he hasn't texted, or seeing my text marked as read

Yes. It's become an obession with me. As soon as I hear a 'ping', I grab my phone hoping it's him.

He’s rarely on whatsapp usually. He only checks it couple times a day. He isn’t on it late nights anymore compared to when we chatted. We often messaged each other like 11pm. Nowadays he checks his whatsapp 7am and 9am. He haven’t chatted for months now.

If you hadn't said " We haven't chatted for months now", I could have argued that maybe he's just busy with hobbies, job or whatnot.
But knowing that I'd say he's most probably not interested anymore.
