Oh I have had that happen. I told my husband I was filing for divorce and he laughed in my face. I told him laugh now enjoy yourself but You won't be laughing when the paperwork is done. I have also had men laugh in my face when I have told them I'm breaking up with them. Guys laugh when they think the girl won't go through with it... That's just get them dumped faster

It could also be a defense mechanism to not let you see how it really is affecting them similar to a guy laughing off at a put down thrown their way.. it's far easier to laugh it off than to confront them and be told stop being so sensitive... ye know cause men are meant to be thicker skinned.

I've had 2 different x boyfriends cruelly laugh in my face because they literally thought I wouldn't go through with it they had some notion that I could not make it on my own without them that was really ridiculous being that I was paying most of the bills and with the first one actually all the bills.

Current only husband I've had laughed in my face when I told him that if he gambled one more time I would be out while he laughed I reminded him of the story of the last two guys who laughed in my face... That's why they're exs. You want to laugh at my concerns I'll leave faster.

See I don't just dump a man I'm with I sit him down and give him a straight calm heart to heart warning I'll be like this is what I like of you and this is what I'm not liking this has to change because it's pushing me to the breakup point if they laugh in my face they don't take me serious or they don't change then that's too bad for them.
But laughing at me pisses me off more than anything. And basically just makes me determine to prove to them that I'm done I get my stuff together finished whatever finances or any issues we may have or take care of whatever bills and then I'm out

It basically comes down to my mindset... I was dating a girl for over 5 years who I absolutely loved to bits and one day she told me she wanted to end it... after a few seconds of letting it quickly sink in, I just said that's not a problem and hugged them.

Why? We'll what use is getting angry or questioning it? If they are wanting to end it then it's obvious they don't want to be with me and why would I want to be with someone that doesn't want to be with me?

Sure there might be some reason like I've changed or... it's not as fun etc.. but at the end of the day to rectify this I would need to be changing myself to make it work.. and this again leads to the question why would I want to be with someone that doesn't want to be with the real me.
