Why is it so hard to move on from my ex?

we broke up in October the break up was really bad he went back to his ex told her all of my business and forced me to get a abortion We live together until our lease ends in December. after our breakup he asked me for a second chance 3 times the first 2 times he went back to his ex and the third time He changed his mind and said he needs to focus on himself and his goals and just wants us to be friends to make our living situation less awkward. i have tried to be the bigger person and be cordial with him even though i still have feelings for him. but every now and then he tries to have sex with me (which I refuse) and when i tell him i dont want to be friends he dont leave me alone until i change my mind. I’m having a hard time just being his friend I don’t know why I still have feelings for him after he treated me so badly usually if someone mistreats me i dont stick around How can I move on from him? my sister suggested that i go on dates but im not ready to meet anyone new yet and i dont want to waste anyone’s time

Sounds as though you really have low self-esteem. Like someone in your life that was important was treated like shit so you let it happen to you. You took him back numerous times so of course he’s going to go to use to do that. He knows he has you wrapped around his finger. He didn’t force you to get an abortion, you did that yourself. Unless he held you down, performing it himself, that was all on you. You need to stick up for yourself. This dude is trash. He will always treat you like trash. I mean fuck as soon as he left you he talked all this shot about you to his ex. Have some respect for yourself.

Take it from a girl that had a heartbreaking experience with my last ex. We used to work together and he told me he needed time over Snapchat. So I figured I give him some space and try to be nice but when he wasn’t really giving it to me I became a cold heartless bitch. I’m not going to lie I’m still hurt and that was over a year ago. It took me 6 months to finally download those dating apps and get back out there. Girl just block his ass. If you guys don’t live together anymore then I’d say get that piece of shit blocked and deleted. No turning back! No more toxic energy for you! And I’m not going to lie but I didn’t leave my job because of him. I left because of a code of conduct that was violated at my previous employer.

It’s hard to move on because he’s not completely out of the picture. You’re living together and still have feelings for him. He still tries to have sex with you. You can’t get closure under these circumstances. You really need to get away from him and allow yourself time to heal. Going out with someone else wouldn’t be fair until that can happen. If you can’t afford a different living arrangement, can you change your work schedule to offset his more effectively? Do you have a lease you’re locked into? If so, does it allow you to sublet? Just looking for answers here. I can’t imagine being in your shoes without murdering him.
