The first sign is your partner distancing themselves. You can fee them pulling away, even if it's only very suble at first. They may seem indifferent towards you.
However, that doesn't necessarily mean they want to breakup. There could be others issues going on. That's why it's best to talk to your partner if you feel there's something going on with them.
It's so easy to overthink and make assumptions. But that just causes too much anxiety and frustration. When people overyhink , they always take things personal , but the issue could have nothing to do with them. There could be underlying reasons that have nothing to do with the relationship.
In my experience, what happens is one person feels a change in their partner. They take it personal, so they end up pulling away. When their partner feels them pull away, they do too. So you end up with two people assuming the other one no longer wants to be with them.
That's why quality communication is vital for the survival of a relationship.
If you believe something isn't right, trust your gut but don't make assumptions or overthink. Your intuition tells you when something isn't right, but it can't tell you what the problem is. So I'd speak to your partner if you ever feel she wants to breakup with you.
Assumptions usually destroy relationships.
If you live together, stopped sleeping together or made it less often, stopped showing as much affection, started being more independent ie if you normally walk to the shops together, she now prefers to go alone, she starts looking for reasons to leave the house to have time without you around, she stops doing things for you ie if she normally does all the washing or dishes - she now only does her washing and her own dishes.
If you don’t live together, maybe she starts coming up with excuses not to see you, says she’s too busy or she’s already got plans for the week etc, when normally she would be available and keen to see you.
Not being the first to message or call, distancing oneself.. working out more, eating healthier..
Picking up more hours at work.. not cooking for two
At least, that what I’d do
