Why does my ex keep talking to me like we are friends even though he dumped me for my roommate?

My ex, my roommate and I all work together and my ex started talking to me and trying to converse with me like we are friends after he said he missed me and before all that we were in no contact because I told him I didn’t like how friendly he was acting because it hurt me to see him act like nothing happened when I can’t do that because I still love him and he turned my life upside down so like why does he still try to talk to me doesn’t he get it?
