Is there any benefit to wait to divorce until you’ve been married at least a year?

Like say you got married and quickly it turned sour and you no longer want to be married within months. Is there any benefit to wait a full year until being divorced? Like financial reasons or anything?

No, there isn't. If it's a mistake, end it as soon as possible. Quick divorces are pretty uncomplicated, as there is no joint property to divide. Move out if you can, find a lawyer and file.

Look up your state laws
Some U. S states require a separation period of a year, while others require marriage counseling.
Serious question: Did you learn ANYTHING from this?

  It’s not me. It’s a guy I’m seeing who I thought was single but apparently he’s been married for the last year and they’re getting divorced exactly one year later so I’m wondering why they are doing it the exact date they got married
