My ex and i broke up about 2-3 years ago, and I still think about the relationship from time to time and still feel agitated by it. It was a mutual breakup that needed to happen, and I dont ever want to get back together with him, but I find myself missing the feelings that I had for him sometimes.

If single, sometimes you will miss a version of them that you wished they were, but really thats just a whole new imaginary person that your brain makes up, but with their looks, because its impossible to imagine what the next one will look like.
This can trick you into thinking you miss them, but really you're just lonely, and your ex is still not what you wanted.
well yeah. you don't ever get the exciting feelings the same as when you first felt them with your first love. and after each love, it gets duller and duller. it's a sad reality.
