He is trying to make himself feel better by insulting you. That is the only reason I can think of. Just childish behavior and further backs up your wise decision to dump him. He is a cheater anyway. I would never take back a cheater because the odds of them changing is slim. You did the right thing leaving him. Just block him and move on your way. No reason to have any contact with him.
