Dating a man who shares dog with ex girlfriend of 4 years.

Would you date a man who shares dog custody with his ex. I have 2 kids that are 12 and 14 and I feel that I'm being too sensitive, but they have only been broken up since last Oct. And he said that the has no feelings for her, but when I met him he said that he loves her to death, but she cheated on him, then she got pregnant on purpose, and wanted him to marry her, he said that he wasn't ready, but he'd be there supporting her and being a family. She instead got an abortion and they broke up. Now he still sees her and she talks about, how old the child would have been if she didn't have the abortion. And they talk about that and the dog. And I don't like it. And, it will not end any time soon. I need some advice!

Sounds like he is not over her. I would take this very seriously. It seems like they are using the dog to keep each other in their lives, I think you should really talk to him about this and ask him how he truly feels about is ex. Does he see them being together again and where he sees your relationship with him is going. Really find this out and then make your decision.

Do you really want to date someone who is always thinking about someone else? Or do you want to have to share him with the other girl because he seems to not be over her yet.

I don't think the dog would be a problem for me, as I understand people feel really deeply for their pets. But I think that there is more to this than just that. He seems to still have feelings for his ex, and he needs to come to terms with that. I can definitely see how you would feel uncomfortable with this. So you definitely need to have a serious discussion about this. He needs to respect his relationship with you. I can see coming to see the dog, but why is he still talking to her?
