Ex saw me on a dating app, got angry at me, I feel like it’s my fault, what should I do?

My ex said he wanted to talk and reconnect, however, he told me to move on multiple times and date others. He threw it in my face when I downloaded a dating app so I deleted it. I kept telling him I didn’t have it which was true. Until last night, he told me to stop messaging him so at this point I got the hint it was clearly over and he wanted nothing to do with me so I downloaded it.

He messaged me today very angry calling me liar, said I was on the dating app and said he wanted nothing to do with me and he then blocked me before I got a chance to even explain. I’m very upset and shaken up by it. I have done nothing wrong and I did not lie. I decided to simply download it after he told me last night to stop messaging him? I feel really upset and hurt I didn’t even get a chance to explain. Why is he doing this to me?

He’s AN EX… so at this point nothing he says matters unless you let it… If you are no longer with him, if you’re on a dating site or not is NONE OF HIS BUSINESS…He blocked you, good… block him back and move on…

Regardless it seems he wanted you to beg to stay perhaps you didn't show much effort to make him stay. He wanted an ego boost.

So we are not together at all, he reached out to talk to me a few weeks ago but he insisted I should date other people. That’s why I was on a dating app after he told me to stop Messaging him as I gave up after his mind games

This is called manipulation, don’t let it get to you. He sounds incredibly insecure and is trying to guilt trip you and make you feel like you are in the wrong which is almost emotionally abusive. Don’t fall for it, continue to move on and don’t communicate with him anymore. You are doing the right thing, don’t blame yourself for his ways.
