Would my ex’s W-4 forms be mailed my address?

my ex used to live with me, and updated his address to my house, and we used to work together so he would just put my address on W-4 forms, and since tax season is coming up, would his form to be mailed to my house? because that’s going to be hard to try and reach out about since he blocked me on everything and recently blocked my number, and i should’ve been the one blocking him but yeah, my friend did a public date background check on him, and it has my address as his current address even though he lives in port orchard now.

I think it's possible his W-4 forms could still get sent to your address if that's what he had listed as his address before. The IRS probably wouldn't know he moved unless he updates it with them directly.

That could definitely cause an awkward situation if you end up getting his tax stuff. I'd say keep an eye out over the next month or so as tax season starts up. If you do get anything with his name on it, you'll have to figure out a way to return it to him or dispose of it so it doesn't cause drama.

Might be a good idea to let your ex know somehow, like through a mutual friend, that his address is still listed as yours and he should update it. That way he can change it before anything gets sent there.

Don't go contacting him directly though, that ship has sailed. Just gotta deal with the fallout of him leaving his old address on things. Hope it all works out dude, at least tax season is almost over!

I think they will use the address on the most recent W-4. If he's worked since he was with you, he probably used a new address.

If anything comes to your house, you MIGHT be able to forward it if you have a new address. But it's possible that official documents like that can't be forwarded.

You can also write "Not at this address" on it and stick it back in the mail. Or better yet, take it to the post office and explain the situation.

If he didn't update his address, that's on him. Sooner or later he'll be forced to update his address.

i mean, it's out of your control and should not be your responsibility. he'll have to ask his work to update his address
