Should I show up at my ex’s place unannounced for closure?

He mentally abused me after taking my virginity and promising me the world and a proposal. Then he broke up with me saying I deserved better, and blocked me on everything before I could respond. He’s also avoiding seeing each other like the plague and he has been for weeks before we even broke up. He’s moving across the country next week, and I’ll never have a chance to see his face again for true closure. Do I say screw it and just show up announced accepting any consequence? I could move on by just seeing his face one last time. Have you or do you know anyone that has ever showed up at their ex’s place unannounced?

I'm so sorry girl. I totally understand how you feel. Just today my ldr boyfriend of 8 months dumped me. He has promised me the world to me as well, moving in with him, even getting married. A few hours ago he said he loved me and now he just told me that it would be better to end the relationship, because I'm a lousy, terrible girlfriend for him with some petty excuse that he has lots of problems in his life and that going to kill himself, which of course isn't true, because he's done this before.
When I called him a 🤡 and called him on his bullshit he sent me a bunch of horrible insults saying I look like a butch lesbian and blocked me on social media

I’m sorry 😞 no one deserves to be insulted like this by the person they love. These men sold us a fantasy unfortunately. If it makes you feel any better my ex said “you are not my type at all” for basically no reason when all I asked for was the weekend to myself to gather my emotions. That was last Thursday. We mended things and it seemed hopeful, but now this today.

I’m so sorry that happened to you but NO. Do not do that. He could call the cops on you.
I’ve had an ex show up unannounced to my house. He did awful things to me, etc etc. I wanted closure but that just ruined everything for me. It made things complicated and I had to call the police. It won’t give you closure.

I totally understand that. I do. I literally went through something so similar. I know it hurts like hell but it’s gonna hurt even more if you see him again and if things get messy. You know you deserve better and he is not the “better” for you.

I can honestly relate to this , but closure does nothing !! I had to meet up with my ex 5 times for ‘closure’ when in reality I just didn’t want to come to terms that our relationship was over , You just need to forget about him it seems hard now but time is a healer , you will heal.

Yeah, that is a horrible idea. Closure comes from within yourself, not seeing someone for the last time.
Showing up unannounced almost guarantees an ugly scene.
