Can I show up to his house unannounced?

I’m dumping my boyfriend because he decided to only want to be friends. He wants to stay in contact in with me for some reason but just as friends. I told him i no longer want to be in contact with him at all and that I want to get my things from his house. I even told him once I get my things it’s over for good. He agrees but has been really tricky with it. We set a time and plan for me to get it but he doesn’t respond when I say I’m ready. One time I told him I was ready and he didn’t respond so I drove by his house and he wasn’t there. He responds to my other messages except when it comes to me getting my stuff. He’s been avoiding going to his house too. Would it be weird to get my things unannounced?

I think it would be best to take inventory and decide if the items can be replaced; if so, abandon the retrieval, it's not worth it. If not, I'd reach out to the other people he lives with (parents, roommates, etc) and explain the situation to them. Hopefully they see reason and can assist you. But if you must take this route, I don't think you can remain friends with him.

he decided he wanted to be friends, sounds like he already dumped you. no need to go over and "dump" him when he already chose that for you. he may think you are being a bit unstable and doesn't want to confront you which is why he's avoiding. do not go over unannounced. cool down for a bit... and then recollect yourself on a later day.

Good idea, but there's a chance the police may call it a 'civil case' and step away from the situation. That's been my experience trying to retrieve items from an ex at least. Maybe she will have better luck though.
