A promise no matter how big or small is still a promise and if it’s broken it can definitely cause pain or feelings of betrayal. Have you ever broken a promise or had a S. O. broke their promise on you? How did you deal with it?

Not an SO but I did make a promise I regret breaking but I was at a bad state of mind then, it wasn't very clear and we distanced from each other leading to me breaking my promise which was that ill always be there for the person, I'm still here for said person but I think my promise only matters to one of us I guess lol

A promise I made to him had been broken but it wasn't intentional.

Not yet aware that I'm incapable of conceiving, bearing & giving birth to a child, I promised him I'd give him lots of kids.

Then, that day came when the medical world gave us the unbelievable news that I have conditions that prevent me from conceiving, bearing & giving birth to a child.

After so many years of finding solutions, we gave up and sulked for long period until it led to a break up on my part out of guilt that I couldn't keep my promise.

I wanted him to find another woman, one who can complete him but he repeatedly refused to leave me agonizing on my own and stayed with me until my spirits were fully restored.

I never got to make it up to him and he insists I don't have to because it's something I cannot fix.

We went through the adoption process but all those fell through until we realized we didn't need children to be a family.

Eventually, we got married with a much stronger bond unimaginable. <3
