I spoke to my ex lastnight and he said he wanted to book a ticket to His home country which is Jamaica to escape and clear his head after our breakup. I asked him if he was going to see family and stuff and he seemed like he was really unsure of his response to me even though he said yea. Why would a man go on vacation after breaking up with their girlfriend?

do you two live together? just being in the same city as an ex can be overwhelming to some people, especially since it's still really fresh. and since it seems like this isn't his hometown. i wouldn't take it personally

maybe he wants the comfort of his hometown and a "vacation" can clear your head once you're put into a new environment. sometimes people travel so they can deal with the emotions later once the reality of the breakup fully settles in
