Take time for yourself. Is gonna take some time to recover after that and it's gonna hurt really bad so surround yourself with the people you love the most. Family and friends will be very important in this phase of your life. Don't immediately jump into the dating scene. Give yourself at least six months to get over it. Eat nourishing foods, stay healthy and exercise. Pray or meditate. Stay busy. Find a new hobby or do the things you couldn't do when you were in a relationship. Within a few months you'll feel yourself again.

It’s a very shitty feeling when someone you gave your heart to just changes their mind and no longer wants to be with you , your mind races with all the memories you shared together and you realize it’s over. The best advice I can give is to focus on yourself and realize a new chapter is opening up in your life , Realize if that person truly loved you, in the first place they wouldn’t be walking away from you period , because someone that actually loves you , would stand by your side no matter what and fix what was broken , so whatever their reasons maybe , is no longer your problem anymore. Understand there is someone better for you out there , Someone that won’t walk away from , someone that values you the way you value them , someone that wants to see you smile and not bring misery into your life. I just separated from my wife not to long ago and losing her devastated me that she gave up on us she chose selfishness over choosing our marriage together , by thinking the grass was greener on the other side , sadly most people have selfish mindsets that think they are missing out on things and thinking there lives should be better than what they already have right in front of them, so her selfishness took the better of her , as much as I am angry and hurt by her , I pray for her happiness and wish her well. I realized I deserve someone that won’t walk away from me , she is just harder to find these days lol

I think it really depends on how it ended ? But there are commonalities regardless. Take time to re-invest in you and figure out who you are now. Don’t isolate yourself or though yourself into things either. Time for a little self indulgence , maybe a little exploration into new challenges , some change combined with a little fun and excitement. And certainly no rushing to try and fill any emotional gaps. For me a little distance always featured , breaking the pattern that was before.

In my case, I just started to heal... three months after 20+ years is not so long... I just want to feel better now... but it doesn't seem to listen to my whining, lol
