My ex boyfriend returned my money but was it ok to still get him out of my life?

After 3 years, he finally pays back what he owed me. I got told that 2 of my dad's friends tracked him. They put the fear of God on him. They got their own ways of dealing with users and/or scammers. They won't likely attack the person but will them fear other things such as getting fired from their job, their rep ruined, etc.

The next day, suddenly he unblocked me (he had blocked me after we broke up and I demanded my money back), apologized for the first time met up with me to return my money I've given him to help him with his car. It was $5,000 in total.

But he was hurt and upset that I didn't want him as a friend, that I still told him to get lost. Was it right? This time I blocked him myself.

I feel nothing for him. He lied about a future and he wasn't ever going to return my money if it weren't for my dad's friends.

He's a disgusting person. He had the nerve to expect a friendship after faking a future (wasting 2 years of my time by promising fake promises of one day getting married and having kids), not returning my money and nearly getting away with it.
