How do I leave when I physically can't?

So, I found out my girlfriend cheated on me. I might lose my license for a few months. I don't know if I will or not. Attorney could help, but I definitely can't afford one if I have to leave and move out. I just don't know what to do at this point. This hurts, I don't know where to go, if I do I may lose everything. I just need some general help. Ideas on what I could do. Can't afford a huge rent payment, I don't really have anywhere to go and I really don't know what to do.

Here's what I would do... Focus on talking to your girlfriend and really hearing her side. Make sure it's crystal clear that your trust is broken and you need honesty from this point on. Give her a chance to fully own up to what happened and prove she wants to regain your trust over time. If she's not willing to do that uncomfortable work, then she probably isn't serious about the relationship.

In the meantime, try talking to your landlord or family/friends to see if anyone can help with a temporary place to crash, even if it's just for a little while. Maybe your landlord will let you break the lease early if you explain your situation. Or see if your job can help with any short term housing assistance or legal advice.

Most importantly, don't feel rushed into any big decisions without exploring your options. Take some time to clear your head and focus on you right now. Don't lose everything because of one mistake - there's usually a way to work through tough patches if you're willing to ask for help from people who care about you. Hang in there man, you'll figure it out!

I know I didn't write this but honestly I wasn't in a good headspace. This isn't the first time. I have given her a chance and tried to mend and fix things. I know I'm not perfect and made my own mistakes but I don't think there's a next time or coming back from this. Not worried about the landlord I can explain the situation and she would work with me on it. Very very nice lady. I just don't know where to go from here and it really sucks. Gave her my all, and everything. Doubt my work would but I might try that I don't know. Supposed to me switching jobs which would make it even harder.

Damn bro, that really sucks. Breakups are always rough, but it hurts extra when you try so hard to make things work and they still go and mess up like that. You put in all that effort and care, just to get wasted in the end. Not cool of her at all.

It seems like you know deep down this time is really over - and that's probably for the best man. No point in wasting more time on someone who doesn't appreciate you. As much as it hurts now, ripping that bandaid off is gonna save you more pain down the line.

For now, focus on you. Surround yourself with your boys who got your back. Hit the gym or play some ball - physical activity is good for working out stress and emotions. Make sure to eat well and sleep, take care of yourself.

In time the hurt will fade. For now it just sucks, and that's okay. Let yourself feel it, but don't wallow. Keep pushing ahead step by step. You got this bro, better times are coming. Just keep your head up!

Hmmmm. . . What kind of job do you have, how much do you make in a month and what are your monthly expenses? Are you able to increase your hours to earn more or take a second job?

You’re not going to wanna do this but sometimes you just have to swallow your pride and go through a difficult time to get to where you want to be. So for starters, I would suggest looking into shelters in your area if you’re serious about leaving and have no connections (like living at a family or friends house).


If you can afford it now then look into renting out a room in someone’s home. Check Craigslist especially.


Once you’re at that point, start saving up for the bigger move, aka your own place. Nothing about this is going to be easy, it’ll be a hard time while going through a hurtful healing process of all things. But you’ve got to start somewhere, and you shouldn’t have to feel stuck with this woman who cheated.
