My ex's friend blocked me on Instagram but restricted me on fb?

My ex broke up with me a month and a half ago and moved to California (we were living in Michigan) a month ago. He has been living with his guy friend (who I don't like) while in California.

His female friend, who is from the Netherlands and is 20 years older than us, is visiting them in California. She used to have a crush on my ex when we started dating (we were together for 4 years), but my ex would say that she talks to much and she is too masculine, so basically she isn't his type. She is also has a live in boyfriend, who she has been dating for maybe 6 months.

Knowing her, I would think that she wants to not be involved, which may be the reason why she would block me in the first place, but one can never be too certain.

Why would she go the effort to blocking me on Instagram but only restricted me on fb?

because people get butthurt when they find out someone unfriended them on facebook, so to avoid conflict they restrict. i do this with a coworker. i don't want to be mean and unfriend them. tho i really should. so for now, i just restrict them. tho once the timing is right and they forget, i will unfriend immediately.

as for instagram, it's a lot easier to not realize someone blocked you.

does it really matter rn? she is ur ex's friend n both r supposed to stay in past for good

social media as whole isn't that serious too
