How can I win my wife back of 20 years that just walked out one night?

I made some mistakes because I'm a human. I've never went out running around behind her back I've always been super faithful. I pushed away all the acquaintances I used to have for her. But now she left me and tells me it's because we never do anything and she didn't expect to be where we're at in life at our age. I'm confused and heartbroken. I'm 47 she's 40 and now she seeing a 61-year-old. What did I do wrong? Any insight would be much appreciated.

You know? I should be mischievous and just set you up with the lady whose post I just answered her guy just stepped out in her… age 40 (fretting about her pristine body count of 1… her hubby) and he’s 41yo self-proclaimed cheater who’s sent our poor girl in a tailspin bc he had a hormonal flare up and got bored of being with his one and only…. SIGH.


As I told her, 40s-50s is the typical age range for most people’s midlife crisis. That’s probably what’s happening to her now… 40 can be a doozie for some folks while 50 tends to be the big one (so buckle up, buddy bc “winter IS coming”).


What can you do… if your gal has left and has moved on, the clear choice is to honestly just do the same. I get that you’re the faithful type — we’re always the ones left with a crate full of heartbreak and a clear conscience about our past and present…. Don’t dwell on this woman, don’t seek her out or get revenge… The real revenge is to let her disappear from your mind completely.


Some folks will tell you to go find a young little chippy to sow some wild oats with…. Personally, that’s not my scene. But generally, yeah, get past the heartbreak, start socializing again and meet Wife#2….

Her comment would make one think she is unhappy because financially your not where she had hoped to be. Also that never do anything together is what breaks up many homes. If you listen to the experts they strive on how it takes a lot of work to keep a marriage fresh. I'm the same age as your wife and my hubby is two years younger than you and we have found it so easy to have continual fun together even with the kids and I believe it is because of the real love we have for each other. We really enjoy doing stuff together and I mean everything.

First thing you did wrong.. NEVER ever give up your friends/ acquaintances etc. for someone.

That said, she walked out and had to go be with a 61 year old to replace you.. In a few years she'll get fed up with him and probably want you back!

Make sure you change the locks and go find someone else.. She won't be as hard to replace as you think..

She told you why she was leaving, and we don't know either of you or anything bout your relationship, so maybe you should pay attention to what she told you.

You can't fix the past. And there does not have to be fault assigned either. It is just what it is. I think you should move on. This will be the least painful way for you. There will be pain but it will pass if you not try to relive your past. You can't grow when you are in the past. Be better for someone else. Good luck.
