My ex boyfriend keeps asking me to buy him a car?

My boyfriend asked me to buy him a car because I just got promoted at my job. I don’t even have a car so I asked him if I buy him a used car would he give me a ride to work and he said no. He is not my ex boyfriend?

A little back story my boyfriend is disabled not physical but more his eyes affects his ability to function in a work setting. Since he injuries his eye in the military I have a little sympathy but I also feel like he should do a customer service job so can stop asking me and his friends for money. He says he doesn’t want to work because he doesn’t want to lose his disability check but it only covers his rent and food. Not really anything else.

This has put a strain on our relationship and I broke it off because I don’t want a man to watch me struggle and grind and not help me out. What should I do? Should I help him get a car so he be mobile and have a better mental health or just tell him to figure his finances out on his own?

He burned his eyes in an explosion and have to get his lense swapped out. He takes meds for the pain. I’m actually not sure how he is able to drive but somehow he does?
