My ex had a friend that he met after he got with me. I found the friendship suspicious being that he has a particular type and she fits it. He said that he wasn’t attracted to her and he was just friends with her to be nice. He claimed that she was obsessed with him and wouldn’t leave him alone. After we break up due to unrelated reasons (things just got a bit toxic), he gets with this very same woman that he claimed he wasn’t attracted to and now they are engaged less than a year later.
Although, I ended things for some reason I’m bothered by this.

Technically it shouldn’t matter, but it is a bit of an eyeroll that this is the same woman he so urgently wanted you not to worry about, even making her sound crazy. A part of me would definitely have some fleeting thoughts, like did anything happen between them while you were together? Did it contribute to the toxicity? A lot of questions for sure, but none you’ll get answers to, and honestly you don’t need them. If something were going on behind your back then they deserve each other, you’re better off without him in present time no matter what, and I’d just leave my thoughts about the situation at that.
Personal insecurity or you aren't over him or both.
