Ex got engaged after two months?

My ex and I dated for 10 months. He told me he wanted to marry me etc. he was emotionally abusive, very mean to me. He broke up with me saying he didn’t want to get married, wasn’t ready and couldn’t feed me or barely himself. Low and behold he blocks me meets a new girl and gets engaged. He’s In love posts all the couplely photos he would never posts with me. Shows her affection and does the things he would never do with me. He moved down here for me, why did he get into a relationship so soon after the breakup? And now he’s engaged? He messaged me a month before the engagement telling me how he was doing and asking me for advice the month before. He then blocked me before he got engaged? Why does he do things with her in the begging of their relationship he never did with me. Does it mean he never loved me? Plus he waited until he was engaged to want to return the rest of my things which he never did. He never proposed to me but this girl he did which I’m not understanding as he was the one who always said he wanted to marry me. Why would he breakup with me and get engaged so soon?
