Why is my engaged ex upset that I want to move on?

My ex is engaged to be married. I contacted him with a schedule for the children that we share but he won’t compromise because I plan to move on. Why would that be? It’s clear he made a decision on where he wants to be but clearly doesn’t want me to do the same.
