It depends on what laws. If he broke a law against feeding the homeless without a license, or jaywalking to help an animal stuck in the street, or trespassing to answer a cry for help etc... if it was a bad law or there was a good reason to break it, then I would like him more than someone who never broke any law (especially if there was good reason to break a law, and he still didn't break it).
I like kind people, not blindly obedient ones.

Can you be at all specific? Like is this a piracy crime does he just own a shady website, or a drug crime and he sold Marijuana before it was legal, or something serious/bad like violating peoples rights as a landlord or employer, or being involved in human trafficking of any kind?
