Trending & News I don’t pay for the running of background checks on potential girlfriends 😆 so I would only likely be aware of it if they volunteered that information to me and like many I likely wouldn’t even get the full story. Assuming I found out at some point though it would have be balanced with who they were to me. A person can have a criminal record for a number of reasons from stupid choices to circumstance as well as just being caught and charged.
So the only answer I can give is “potentially”
Ask yourself this question, do people that have Made genuine errors in judgement or made a bad decision / defended a loved one deserve to be treated like a pariah and remain single forever after?
The crime and if it was repeated are a lot more important than having been convicted of one. There are some ruthless assholes out there who are squeaky clean.
Same and all though, I wouldn't date a woman who had child abuse, violence, fraud, pretty much anything except contempt of court, DWI, light drugs, or anything with protesting. I won't fault people for having convictions.
Unless it's those stop oil assholes. They should protest in the ocean during a hurricane to stop the oil. It'll work, swearsies.
It would depend on the charge and, in some cases, why they did it. For example, I wouldn’t date someone who was arrested for child abuse no matter the circumstance. However, I would date someone who got arrested for robbery if they were just trying to provide for themselves/their family.
What about sexual abuse or murder?
@subwayperson sexual abuse, absolutely not. Murder, depends on why and what charges like if it was involuntary manslaughter/happened while they were trying to protect themselves and/or other people or if it was completely out of malicious intent.
I believe that. The recidivism rate is astronomical. So many people think the jails in prisons are bad places. But they are really just homes. The biggest joke in the world is the term department of corrections.. What exactly are they correcting?

If it's rap no
not unless it was wrapped like Eminem or Tom McDonald
if it's rock yeah
I would probably date her. Just all depends on the record
Probably not lol but that depends on your definition of a criminal record. If if speeding tickets or first degree murder? There is a major difference
Depends on 1) what is for 2) how long ago it was 3) have they truly changed.
Not everybody who has a criminal record is a bad person. I’m good friends a guy who is a felon because of a horrible choice he made with a bad addiction (he’s in recovery). But he’s an excellent human being otherwise.
Sometimes people make bad mistakes and/or got caught up in the wrong crowd. Addictions can also lead to this.
But on the flip side there really are sociopaths and even worse psychopaths out there. The dumber ones are usually criminally inclined. Smarter ones know how to legally exploit others.
One way you can identify them is how do they treat people who can do nothing for them. Especially how they treat others when nobody is watching.
I guess it depends what kind of record. If you mean they did something mildly dumb when they were kids, like drink or do drugs, I would still consider dating them as long as they're not that same person. If you mean they robbed, raped or murdered someone, distributed drugs or other things, then no, I wouldn't date them. Also, if they are in a gang or have been to jail/prison several times to the point they have gang/jail tattoos, I wouldn't date them.
What about sexual abuse or murder?
Justice and law are not the same thing
And a record just means you broke the law.
So I would go at it with nuance.
What was the crime. What was the story. Etc…
I won’t just count someone out because of a judge did once upon a time
NO
Association is everything and association reflects on yourself , criminals are dishonest people.
I went out with a girl for 2 years ( prior to her going to jail ) she deserved 3 x her sentence , they never catch them for everything. criminals , they remain criminals , forever.
I voted yes, but it really comes down to my own judgement of them as a person. The way our legal system is set up, literally ANYONE can be labeled a criminal. TECHNICALLY every speeding ticket is an arrestable offense. Doesn't mean you WILL go to jail, but it does mean you are TECHNICALLY a criminal. All a criminal is is someone who EVER broke the law. I've been arrested, yet was able to join the military and law enforcement after.
It would depend on what she was convicted of. If it was tax evasion or was one of the Jan6th protesters I would have no problem, If it was murder or a drug conviction forget it.
When I worked at the prison work release, II knew tons of criminals. One woman went to prison 15 times. I asked her how she liked prison. She said it was OK but she didn't like the baby cookers. I told her to please not tell me what that means. I bet you know things that you wish you didn't know.
@MarjorieJ There is a county jail near where i live. I used to sell uniforms to the screws. This jail is on some farmland and the inmates grow produce during the summer months. Some of the guys tell me that there are people who get arrested on purpose so they com back and work on the farm.
Strongly depends on what the crime was. What, vandalism? Boohoo. Got in a brawl at a bar and gor arrested? Don't like it, but whatever so long as he doesn't do that again.
Insane violent crime? Nah. Fraud? Nah.
I just depends on what it was and how long ago, etc. People can make mistakes that might not represent their true self.
Likely not because that criminal record probably limits job prospects as well as took a hammer to their credit rating so it's two strikes already...
Pshh... I've ONLY dated guys with criminal records hahah! Not intentionally or anything... I guess I attract them? Lol
Sure it's not like I would even know when I meet them anyway.
Probably not. I mean, why should i
It's like marriage. Give me one good reason, other than "being together", that, I should get married. I said GOOD reason, not "A" reason
@Zack-Bann My point exactly. there's no GOOD reason to marry
Depends on what sort of crime. Tax fraud? Yeah sure. Any violent or sexual crime, restraining orders, stalking? Hell no.
Yes because it could be a misdemeanor and they’ve learned from it or it could be that they were wrongly accused
Yes I would especially if it was a minor offense or like a dui or something like that.
Yes but it depends on the charge and if they have a reason for doing it
Yea I’d be open minded depending on the circumstances
It would depend on what the offense was, and how long ago.
Depends on what it is, how long ago and why
Most of my mothers family have records
I don't think most women did any time for murder, rape, or being a pedo so probably.
I don't ask, about that so yes
Probably not but the details matter.
Never a girl with a criminal record
Depends ENTIRELY on what's in the record.
Depends on the charges I guess
Girls do it, boys don't :)
That depends on what she did
Depends on the record so yes
depends on what he did
Depends upon the charges and when.
To be honest no i wouldn't
No thank you.
Depends on what and how long ago.
Depends on the crime
Yeap
Very unlikely
Like Gangsta Rap?
No way
Depends on the case.
