Other than if you have kids with them, why do you need an ex in your life?

I find it unnecessary to have ex's in your life, other than if you have kids with them, even then, you don't really need to be hanging out with them, only to bring them over for time with the kids

Personally I do believe in clean breaks. But I also have very few exes because I'm selective to begin with.

First ex I still speak to (bc first love kind of sticks in your craw) but very very briefly only for a birthday or holiday greeting and then we vanish from one another's lives again. We don't see one another at all. He has his kids, I have mine... it is what it is.

Second ex is my ex hubbie. The kids aged out of needing support or school funding, so now there's no need to speak to one another at all. He was horrible to me while I gave him everything. So I don't block him in case there one day is some emergency with the kids, but we haven't spoken in over 5 years... so... Done.

Third ex I blocked on all devices and medias. Long story short, he fumbled, married another gal and now they're divorced. No backsies... What's done is done.

Nearly-fourth ex... No need to contact someone who isn't contacting me. The door is slowly shutting on that one and when it does I'll be fine.

Overall, really there's no need to contact an ex... Those who make excuses to reach out are basically just asking for trouble.

You don’t need them in your life period , an ex is an ex for a reason. I distance myself from exes when I meet a girl that I want by my side , she doesn’t have to worry about my exes being a consistent part of my life because I respect her the same way I would like her to respect me. If she was still close to her ex and he was still consistent in her life, she won’t be my partner period maybe just a piece of ass

Friends shouldn’t be thrown away so easily. I am still friends with my ex. We still talk a good bit. She has remarried and moved out of state. However we still get along and keep up with one another. We still love one another however, we are no longer in love with each other. If that makes sense?

My exes tend to also be friends. I didn't date them just because they're hot, I enjoyed talking and doing stuff with them. I still talk to most of my exes now and then.
