What are your reasons for not dating a divorcee who has kids?

I’m not ready to take care of a kid or to have a kid get involved in my relationship just yet. Plus I won’t be able to stand the fact that his ex would still be actively around his life to co-parent their kids.

When I was very young - maybe 29 or 30 - I dated a woman who had two small children. I met them very soon after we started dating and got very attached to the kids. It made breaking up with their mom even more difficult.

No, it just led me to the conclusion that when you date a woman with children under 18, you should avoid ever meeting the kids until you suspect the relationship is headed towards a long term arrangement.
