It’s possible but that depends on the people for sone people once that romantic and/or sexual line is crossed there is no going back to being friends. But it’s a case by case basis if someone breaks up because someone or the other did something really crappy then you shouldn’t even trust someone as your friend honestly.

Other times people make great friends but aren’t compatible romantically. Which is okay too so it genuinely depends on the two people involved.

You do not have to be enemies but if you are in a new relationship they shouldn't be part of your life anymore.

If a girl I was dating kept regular contact with an ex, I would have stopped seeing her.

It might be possible but not immediately after the break up. I'd give it at least year to reconnect. I'm not friends with any ex tho.

I always initiate no contact after a breakup even if it wasn't a super negative one or more mutual. I think it's the only way to healthily move on in a reasonable amount of time.

Not really. You can leave on good terms and not be enemies yes, but to stay friends as in hanging out here and there and do social activities together seems odd to me. There will always be an odd mixture of feelings I think.

I'm friends with every single one of my exes. Talk to them all at least once a week and one every single day. There aren't thay many of them but I chose really good girls to date. You don't just throw them away because it just wasn't perfect.

I tried it for a while. It worked alright at first but eventually you both kind of get busy with your life and talking becomes less frequent.

It's not impossible, and if there are kids then it is preferable. But if no kids then maybe cleaner to make a clean break
