How do you get over someone who left you over a year ago?

I dated this dude online off and on for a year or so and last year he told me he found somebody irl and he left , well I used to talk to him every day and really liked the guy , though we had some disagreements in the past , i talked to guys before him and guys after him , but none left an impression like he did. he lives in England so there was a low chance of me ever meeting him anyway i get that , doesn’t soften the blow tho.

Filling his digital shoes might fall short if you are hoping for an identical replacement as it were. Maybe an improved version? Hard to really say what would help. My smartassed side says drown the loss with copious amounts of booze and serial poor decision making.

I've met them online and it usually it cuz I get ghosted or they say something completely stupid or offensive if I decide to leave them

Online? Free or paid sites? Even on the pay sites there's a little wheat and a lot of chaff. One summer on match I had a dozen first dates and no second dates. The following January I got a message from my wife.

Where do you live? There are a lot more prospects in large cities. If I lived in a city of fewer than about half a million it's doubtful that I would meet anyone compatible.
