Okay, so my girlfriend who's been with me for 4 years, has decided to end things and asked for time cause everything that has happened in the relationship has hit her all now, we have had our rough patches but we talked and moved on, I met her today and she had tears in her eyes with how thing's have become between us, she let me hold her but she said she needs time to figure things out on what she wants, she was distant from me not telling me her whereabouts, not sharing things and I was begging for her time, but after today I'm confused as to how to take this forward, I also had the fear that she has found someone else and not telling me but she made it very clear that there is no one, what do you think I should do to get her back?

From my experiences people who want to take a break during a relationship are usually hooking up with someone else. Taking a "Break" is like a loophole where they can have sex with someone else without technically cheating. Then suddenly when she's done with that, she will come back to you. Meanwhile you've been losing your mind trying to figure out what's wrong. Just dump her, fuck that shit.

My advice would be to not spend a lot of time trying to figure out "why" or what is going on with her. She wants to move on from the relationship, so just let it go. When I was in my mid-twenties I spent a lot of energy trying to figure out what was going on with a lady who I had dated and if I had to do it over again I would just have moved on from the situation a lot quicker.

Trying to get her back right now will likely push her away further and confirm her feeling that the relationship is too much. The easiest thing to do is to simply move on. It is mind-blowing that so many men struggle with basic concepts.

I think you are still young and you need to let her go if that’s what she wants. Holding on to someone that wants to be free is not good for anyone. Take some time apart and maybe both breathe a little. Maybe she has met someone else or doesn’t want to be tied down right now but either way, if she doesn’t want to stay together there is nothing you can do to change that. Loving someone sometimes means letting them go.
