Am I wrong for breaking up with him?

I’m 37 and he’s 36. We’ve dated for 1.5 years, we got along great and had good times. However, he’s separated and told me earlier this year that he will initiate filing for divorce in August. August has came and went…. No divorce. According to him the attorney quoted him $2500 for retainers fee. Which in my opinion isn’t a lot of money for someone that’s making well over 6 figures annually and residing with his family. Furthermore, I haven’t met anyone that this man knows. However, he says he wants us to have a child together. It just doesn’t add up.

So many women fall for the "separated" guy. I can't exactly say you're innocent. You were dating him for a year and a half knowing he was "separated" but not concretely divorced. A lot of these dudes have ended up going right back to the wife they claimed to be getting divorced from, or at least keeping the 'girlfriend' hanging on forever thinking he'll eventually go with her.

But, if you have really broken up with him, keep it that way. Although I imagine you will likely go back to him, as most side girls usually do, especially if he gives you a bunch of bullshit promises or says stuff to move you emotionally.

Because you’re the side chick. The homewreckee. Why would you be with a married man? And why would uou believe he’d leave his wife for you? And even if he did, why would you think he’d be more loyal to you than he is to his wife? It’s disgusting behavior from you to knowingly be with someones husband and there are zero excuses. Absolutely non. He lacks empathy and is a narc psycho for cheating, all cheaters are. But people who allow someone to cheat with them also are. So actually, you two deserve each other and you deserve what’s coming for you through karma.

You are right to question this. At 37, you are at a point in your life where you should be with someone who is ready to build a life with you, not someone who is still living in the shadows of their last relationship.
