Do cheaters deserve toxic partners?

I cheated on my ex by sexting someone else it was a long distance relationship and he wasn't giving me attention, so I did something horrible. I recognize I was wrong he was a good good man, but I can't erase it. I am now getting married to my fiancé been together for 2 years and he is toxic in many ways, and I cry about my ex still, but I want to be married/have children. I feel like I deserve all the toxicity and dont deserve a healthy relationship after what I did and just wondering what you all think about cheaters.

I know that cheating is cheating whether it’s emotional (like you did) or physical, but at the end of the day all you can do is accept your mistake, learn from it, grow from it, and move on. You’re 28, and if you’re lucky enough to live a long life, do you really want to spend the upcoming decades living IN (not with) punishment? I couldn’t imagine signing up to suffer and be miserable my whole life because a fucked up once in my early 20s. You decide what you deserve and your pst does not have to dictate that. I get it, you wanna be married and have kids but you also have to consider what you’d be putting your future self through to obtain that, along with the type of love you’d be showing your kids is acceptable.

Not necessarily, everyone deserves growth, not punishment.

A cheater’s past doesn’t condemn them to a toxic future, it’s a signal to learn accountability, respect, and self awareness.

Toxicity doesn’t teach lessons, it amplifies pain.

The right response isn’t revenge or retaliation, it’s reflection and evolution.

Those who cheat either rise above it or repeat it.

Deserve isn’t about karma, it’s about what they choose to become.

Is it better then being with someone whose a good person? YES! Some people get who they deserve in the end be glad they aren’t wasting a good persons time.

If you feel genuinely bad about something that is the difference between being a shitty person or not. Because some people don’t feel remorse for anything especially hurting a good person they make excuses in their heads as to why they deserved it.

At the same time if they relationship is toxic you should exit the relationship and work on yourself. You’re still younger and there is time for children later. All you’ll be doing is bringing your kids up in a broken home with two toxic immature parents.

You're only human. I have cheated once and have been cheated on, and honestly it is never worth it (in my opinion). If you cheated because he wasn't giving you attention, maybe you should have told him how you felt. Don't get married if you don't feel that it will work out.

I think you should go to therapy. No offence, but I don't think you are in the right place to get married.

Everyone makes mistakes. That doesn't mean that bad stuff should happen to you. That doesn't even make any sense.

You made a mistake, but you weren't married at the time. No punishment is required, especially not being in an unhappy marriage forever. Stop being so hard on yourself and try to find someone that isn't toxic.
