Why do people choose someone they don't love and then cheats?

I know sometimes marriage or relationships are forced onto someone. Not by choice, if women aren't attracted they just never love someone but why destroy someone's life for it?
Men can be like that as well and they are worst at this...
Why not just divorce and start again or breakup. Why cheat?

They would not agree with your description. They would say they loved and then fell out of love, but that is only because they mistake a biological process for love.

In general, the quote: your "yes" has no value unless you ever say "no" comes to mind. If you aren't picky about lovers, and i mean NOT THE PHYSICAL TRAITS picky but that of non physical traits which excludes more people than it includes. Then you are simply looking for "a" lover, not "the" lover, which is not personal heart to heart love but merely a breeding process. ㅤ

They aren't emotionally healthy enough to fulfill their emotional needs so they do it in unhealthy ways. People cheat to cope with self hate

I am not completely emotionally healthy as per say.
But I won't cheat (part of the fact is I am not that desirable)

People often choose someone they don’t truly love and then end up cheating because they’re trying to meet emotional needs in unhealthy or indirect ways. People stay in or enter relationships for reasons that have nothing to do with genuine emotional connection. They just think something is there at first.
