How should I handle my boyfriend’s extreme jealousy over my ex?

We were broken up for a few months, and during that time I was in contact with my ex. We never met in person it was only texts and phone calls, and it wasn’t flirting. We talked more like two old friends. As soon as my boyfriend and I got back together, I stopped talking to him. Later, I told my boyfriend we should talk about what we both did while we were apart. He told me to go first. I wasn’t sure if I should tell him, but I didn’t want to lie either. When I told him, he got extremely angry, started insulting my ex, and asked me some questions that really crossed the line. At one point, he grabbed my arm hard enough to hurt me and wouldn’t let go even when I told him to. I pushed him away and slapped him. Then he punched the mirror behind me and badly cut his hand. Later, after we had both calmed down and made up, we talked about what he did during the breakup too—house parties, clubs, supposedly “running into” an old fling, and apparently talking about me and our relationship with another girl at a club with his friends. And after all that, he was still the one losing his mind over me only texting and calling my ex 😒

This doesn’t sound healthy or a good time. You slapped him and he punched a mirror. This week escalate at some point.


I think goes jealousy and insecurity runs way too deep to have a healthy relationship.

He has anger issues and is jealous with are probably the result of low self esteem. The way he grabbed and held you is reason enough to move on.
