My boyfriend and I were together for several years and recently broke up after I made a serious mistake. I sent my best friend a sexual photo of us that showed him naked without asking his permission first. He found out, and I completely understand why he felt betrayed and violated. I was honest when he asked, apologized, deleted the photo, and had my friend delete it as well. He ended the relationship and said he needs “a good amount of time.” When I mentioned reaching out after some time, he didn’t give me a timeframe. He also said he wouldn’t tell other people the reason for the breakup. I love him and desperately want him back. I know I crossed a serious boundary and I’m not trying to excuse it. Do you think there’s a realistic chance he’ll eventually forgive me and want to reconcile, or should I accept that this is probably permanent?

That relationship is most likely over, and rightfully so, you sent p*rn of him without his consent and to a person he may have never wanted to see him naked in the first place. You’re honestly lucky he isn’t taking legal action and this is just a breakup.
If I were you, I’d really use this time to reflect on the nature of my relationship with my best friend. Don’t get me wrong, I know we can be subject to over-sharing with our best friends, especially when they’re like a sibling to us and/or we’re very close. But you have to remember, your boyfriend does not have that connection with her. So while you may feel fine with her seeing you in various states of undress, it does not mean you should attach that comfortability to him. For whatever reason, you feel the need to fully integrate your friend into your relationship, and that’s something you should genuinely work on before entering another relationship. Boundaries should exist in friendships, they don’t need to know every single little detail or occurrence within your relationship.
You apologized for what you did. Although I understand why he was upset, it isn't the end of the world. I suggest you reach out to him once. If he's not interested in reconciling, I suggest you move on. The last thing you want is to be in a relationship where he's going to hold this over your head forever.
it might have been about more than just the privacy... but the trust
trust is sometimes impossible to recover, for some people
You fucked up. You realize there are consequences. Accept it and move on.
What a bitch ass motherfucker. Does he think he’s a female celebrity, like it’s going to be in the news, all over the internet, and really going to affect his life and reputation?
You're the biggest mother ducker here
@Badtobad shouldn’t you be torturing animals somewhere?
I wouldn’t take you back. If you can send personal pics then what the hell do you say?
Now set a threesome with your best friend, it works well.
It's over. Deal with it.
None whatsoever.
