The state of Texas could soon end no-fault divorce. To such, I say...

It doesn’t matter at this point. Even if you get rid of no fault divorce, the courts will always find fault with the man and not the woman. There is and always has been a pervasive bias in favor of women in western courts. This is why women get child custody in over 90% of contested cases, and why men always receive much harsher sentences for the exact same crimes as women. It’s also why in the vast majority of domestic violence cases, the man is arrested or otherwise removed from the home even when there’s strong evidence that a woman was the primary aggressor or even the only aggressor.
The system is too broken to expect one tiny adjustment to make a meaningful difference in the name of fairness and justice.

"No fault" (uncontested) divorces typically happen after nasty custody battles. Still takes a while to get through.

Oh sure, let’s just throw government roadblocks in the way of a voluntary parting between two adults. Like that would serve any meaningful purpose.


What’s next, throw requirements in the path of marriage? Oh wait, Catholics already do that so shouldn’t the government throw its own crap in the way.


Honestly couldn’t care less what Texas does, if they want to get stupid it doesn’t affect me.
