Why did she immediately start hooking up with other guys?

I broke up with my girlfriend of 4 years and she was devastated, but immediately went out and started hooking up with other people. I was going to get back together with her but now I am not sure if I want to. Do you think it's a bad idea?

She is not over you. She is doing what she can to either think of you or not think of you. She is trying to not think of you by hooking up, while at the same time only thinking about you when it happens. Then she feels even more depressed than she did before after the fact. When you break up you need time to heal and she is not going to heal. My suggestion is to do your thing and let her do hers. In a month or two re-evaluate the situation. If she I acting in ways you don't like than there is no reason to put yourself in that situation and just get hurt again. If she is not the person you cared about for four years than dont't deal with it. She doesn't have something to call her rock, she lost it when she lost you, so she is looking for anything right now. Keep your head up about it.

Well the sad fact of the matter is this, women can get over a break up way faster then a guy, they have tons of friends to get them through their hard times, and us guys have what a few close friends and a bottle of jack, while we are planning on how to get them back, they've already found a new guy and its too late she's over you, happened to me man I mean you can try and get her back but chances are you'll break up again, but if she's already hooking up with other guys she's over you, my advice move on.

well for one, she was hooking up with people probably because she was with you for 4 years and hadn't had any other sexual contacts for a long period of time. personally I think you should wait at least 3-4 weeks b4 saying something, but then again she could find some one else in that period of time, soooo its a hard call

I dated a guy for 3 years, my first everything. And the minute we broke up, I'll admit quite honestly I became a loose cannon with others. Her hooking up is just a way to bring up her self esteem and know that she is wanted by others and not just you. It doesn't even closely mean she is over you though.

She probably started dating other guys because she was with a guy for so long she doesn't know how to live without as guy so it hard for her to be alone. She might also be trying to make you jealous so you will want to go out with her again.

I think that yeah she was devastated and that's why she went right out and saw other people that's just what some people do they are hurt and feel lonely, I'm sure since you guys were together 4 years and she just wanted to feel needed. I think it's a bad idea truthfully because she's just feeling a loss of connection that she doesn't have with you anymore. The people she hooks up with most likely mean absolutly nothing to her.and she's not trying to make you jeleous or anything she just misses that closeness of a boyfriend. I wouldn't get back at her, be the better man in this situation :)

I think it's a bad idea because she seems like she's moved on, back on the prowl, and doesn't give a damn. Cut her off, if she sleeps around like that, what good is she to you? F*** her.

Its called rejection. You just rejected her, and she needs to know she is still wanted by a men. She is am sure still in love with you. If you want her back you need to open the lines of communication but be sure this is what you want. don't real her in and the cast her out again.

She was just rebounding. That doesn't mean that she doesn't still love you- if you want to get back together with her, then I would tell her.
