I told my ex-gf that I appreciate her, and she told me that she appreciates me...what does it mean when a girl says that to you, when it comes to her being my ex-gf?

the fact that she does appreciate you means that she likes you being in her life, I'm guessing you two talk about a lot and you know some of her secrets and she can confide in you when she's upset? she likes that.

she obviously wants you to stick around and she likes your company and you being there for her otherwise she would have just stopped talking to you completely.

do you want her back? if you do then let the closeness continue but don't rush anything, take your time. A girl hates being rushed when making big decisions.

Well.. I encountered the same thing. I usually overanalyze things, thus ruining opportunity and losing face..

This case being the most recent, my ex of 10 years told me the same thing. She is straightforward and transparent with her emotions towards me... So, her appreciating me means just that. As a friend, I am valuable. You can share the little moments and all that, but if the feelings get too far, relinquish the whole idea of reconnecting.

It'll be easier with time; less time focusing on your mistakes in the hopes to better yourself for your real love, bro.
