Can a woman still appreciate your gestures even if she doesn’t say anything. Like sending a thoughtful message and not answering.

Of course. Do you fawn all over every compliment someone gives you or do you sometimes just keep that to yourself and appreciate the gesture? No different in the scenario you present. Just because someone doesn’t react (through text I am guessing) doesn’t mean they don’t appreciate it, even deeply appreciate it.

Some people are just not as vocal about things like that. Perhaps she is just more modest than most. Nothing wrong with that at all. I am sure whatever gesture or compliment she received, she appreciated. I would not overthink her silence too much.

Now, if this is a reoccurring theme, I would start to wonder. While some people may be modest and just keep the happiness of a praise to themselves, that certainly would not be the case ALL the time.

If you are always making gestures (or compliments) and never receiving feedback, I would say that it is because the recipient is not interested in said gestures. That is a whole other story then.

One can of course appreciate another person without communicating. That is called discretion. You don't need to express anything in written or orally to appreciate someone.

Now, if you text or message someone you are secretly crushing and that this person does not answer could also mean that this person does not reciprocate the feelings.

If someone appreciates your gesture, then it is the least of courtesies to let that person know that you appreciate what has been done or said. If that person does not reply to a nice gesture, then either he/she does not appreciate or approve of the gesture or the target person did not receive the message.

In any case, if you did not get anything in return, consider it as a waste of time.
