I see my ex everywhere!

i see my ex everywhere and I'm fine with it and I'm friendly but he always makes an excuse to leave or just stands there awkwardly, he has made no attempt to be friends (which is what HE asked for when we broke up) what's going on with him?

Seems to me he is doing exactly what he should be doing, avoiding you. He doesn't want to be just friends with you and he knows that as long as he is around you he won't get over you. If you respect him, you will let him be until he comes around and decides he can move on. Maybe he cared about you a lot more than you thought.

A question for you though. Do you want to be friends with him because he is a good friend? or Do you want to be friends with him because you still have feelings for him? If you genuinely only want to be friends then make sure he knows that if he decides he wants to be friends again, but if you think you still have feelings you might want to tell him that also just so you both ar on the same page and there is no confusion.

But the thing is its not like I'm going places just so I see him. we are in the same department typathing so we see eachother. but only in passing. why can't he just smile and wave and be civil?

Because he is immature and wants you to feel like the bad guy. He probably isn't completely over you and still has feelings. Just give him time or just ask him what is wrong if you really must know.

I'm going thru something similar. My ex can't handle being my friend or seeing me in person because he is still hurt.

That means he can't handle seeing you right now or being around you because he still has feelings for u. He asked to be friends because that's what he wants to do, but it's hard for him to cope right now. Give him time..

But we broke up in august, how much time does he need?

Thats the thing, I've been totally friendly! I say hi in the hall and smile and all that crap but he's just not trying

Sounds to me that he's having a hard time being only your friend...He probably never got over u.

Because it hurts him too much to just be friends. He has a hard time pretending to not like you and to be your friend because he still has feelings for u. I'm telling u, my ex does the same exact thing when he sees me. He changes paths so he doesn't have to see me and he tries to avoid me. He told me that it's because he is hurt.

The only other reason he could be acting that way is maybe because he thinks YOU want to get back with him since you're being very friendly. Maybe he thinks YOU still like him and he doesn't want to get back together. He could be interpreting your behavior wrong. That is the other possibility. Either way, I think you should confront him about it to find out which of the 2 it is...thats the only way to REALLY know..

Do you think maybe because I was his first kiss that he hasn't moved on? I know for a fact that there is another girl flirting with him nad I've been told he olny flirts back when I'm around.

Ohh wow... His first kiss huh? Usually the "firsts" always hold a special place in a person's heart. Every time he sees u, he is probably reminded of the butterflies he felt when he had that first kiss. And you mentioned that you see him alot, so OF COURSE its still hard for him...

He broke up with you? Well he might be avoiding you because he feels guilty and he needs some space since the breakup is still fresh...

But depending on the reasons for the breakup, he may still have feelings for you and wants to get over you for whatever reason he ended it...

i'm not friends with my ex-bfs at all. not even close. I ignore pretty much all of them unless of course they are setting out to harm me in any way. or whatever.
