Why does my ex run away as soon as he sees me?

we are both adults

he broke up with me because he had so many personal problems

we broke up in a huge argument

sometimes I catch him staring and smiling

but as soon as he sees me close he runs away as soon as possible

so put yourself in his shoes why would you do this?

I've been here myself before. He's actually not scared of you, but he's scared of what you are thinking. He probably thinks, that you think, he's a stalker. Like I've had that, where things went to heck with a girl, I don't see her for months, then I will randomly run into her somewhere public, and she went and told all her and my friends that I was stalking her. You may not be like that, but there are enough women out there like that to make him feel snake bitten. If you care about him still, contact him, if not, then just forget it. Remember, it's impossible for a girl to come off as creepy, like a guy can come off as creepy
