Guys, why would you avoid seeing your ex?

Just a few days ago.. we bumped into each other in a club... he was with his friends I knew so I went up to chat with one of his friends... but he quickly left the group.. and disappeared.. then I called him to say if we could meet for a drink.. he said he needed to go.. I know he is trying to avoid but why?

I keep thinking I wanna go see my ex but then I realize how bad an idea it is. It would be super awkward, I sort of hate her for dumping me, but at the same time I miss what we once had. Also I don't want to give myself any false hope that there's still a chance to fix things - there probably isn't. If she'd ask to meet me I'd probably think she was doing it out of guilt or cause she feels sorry for me.. Idk. Overall bad idea if you ask me!

We were LDR for a year (I saw her every month though) and last September I was meant to go to uni near her so we could be together properly but I didn't get the required grade. We stayed together for another 3 months but then she decided another year of LDR was too painful, which is understandable.

To avoid awkward situations, because he wants to move and seeing you might make him miss you, or he could just not stand to be near you, unfortunate but true for some that have been hurt.

I can tell you that when I would run into my ex I would automatically try to go the opposite direction and avoid him. It just hurt too much to see him and I didn't feel like I could handle it at the time. Maybe he feels the same way and it hurts him too much to be around you right now.

Or he broke up with you, it was hard on him and now you have accepted the break up while he hasn't.

Did you ever sit down and calmly and directly tell him what he exactly did and how it made you feel? He probably doesn't know half of what is going through your mind and how your feeling. People can;t read minds. He is obviously not happy about the break up based on how he is acting.

Well I did what I could, and the best I could. It is hard to talk on the phone and I wanted to meet to talk things out face to face but he has been avoiding me.

about a month ago.. it was mutual... we did chat online after we broke up.. asked him a few times to meet me.. and he rejected all.. only saying we could chat online and not meet..
