The guy was madly in love with me for years and I hated him for loving me unconditionally. I used to avoid him like a plague. Mostly acted out in anger and with rudeness as I wanted to be left alone and assuming he would eventually go away. But he remained persistent and always waited for me to return. Then something really bad happened in his life and I left him for 4 years without any contact.

4 years later I broke with my boyfriend, so was he cheated by his ex twice. That is when I went to this guy to ask pardon for my mistakes (since I was heartbroken and had time for self reflection).

He acted like we never met or he never knew my face.

The guy just hates me to his core and is not willing to even talk to me.

He took all of that as how you felt. He doesn't want that. PLUS... if he knows that you broke up with your boyfriend then he feels like a rebound and that's even worse.
