Is it true that "Guys want what they can't have?" Does this apply after a breakup?

Do you think this is true in a situation whereas the two have broken up and the girl had stayed away from him?I already know that some guys choose to call their exes just because they want sex or because they haven't met another girl. But I'm not talking about that.

Do you think it is possible for a guy to genuinely miss their ex and want to see her and be with her?

The danger I see in this situation is that if a guy who wants what he can't have he will probably get bored again once he has it again.

I've met lots of guys who seemed to be into this whole chase thing. This applied more to the first time getting a girl's attention and not after a break-up, though. Sometimes it seems that the less I'm interested in a guy the more of an effort he puts into things. My most recent ex was like that. When he tried to get my attention I wasn't really into the idea. He did everything possible to win me. Nine months later he dumped me. I think he's the sort of guy who likes the chase, the thrill of something new. So with him, I think that even after the break-up I am of no interest of him - even if I make myself totally unavailable - because he's already had me. However, another ex of mine desperately tried to get me back once I moved on. So I think it's possible for a guy to genuinely miss their ex, depends on the person though. I mean a lot of couples have gotten back together after a second time. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Its one of those things, he is either going to miss you or he isn't you can't make him feel anything. However, if he does miss you, not having contact with him is going to make him feel much stronger then if you were around all the time.

Yes, of course it's possible.

You'll find that a lot of the time, a girl they really care about is running through their head a lot of the time, but since that girl is an ex, they try to push it to the back of their mind.

In other cases their hormones get the better of them, and they end up wanting sex, because as primates it's their main instinct.

When you get back together you will regret it more than the first time, second break ups are way ugly than the first ones, so don't even look back, he might pretend to be changed but you will find out later that he's still the same!
