Does my ex want me back or is he just being polite?

So I ended my relationship with my ex about a year and a half ago. About six months ago we got in contact and hung out a few times & had sex. Then he started dating this new girl who didn't want him talking to me anymore (fair enough) so we stopped talking. A few days ago, I texted him with a question about a mutual friend but I the conversation turned from catching up to some what flirty, saying he has been thinking about me and I could text him whenever I want. And I asked him if this would cause drama with his now somewhat serious girlfriend, he said don't worry about it. So is there something fishy going on? Or does he just want to be civil and his girlfriend doesn't mind?

Seriously, stop. There is nothing more annoying than girls that try to get in between a relationship. Even if he's the one doing the flirting, you need to respect that he has a new girlfriend of whom doesn't want you talking to him, and, oh I don't know... NOT talk to him. I guarantee his girlfriend still isn't okay with you two keeping contact.

If you're still interested in him and he is with you, then you can just tell him so and then give him space to figure his crap out. If he really wants you, he'll leave her. Until then, leave it alone.

I promise you, if he still has a girlfriend, she minds. lol But it sounds like he's still interested in you or wants to be friends, one of the two.
