Does a guy like you if he calls you a ray of sunshine and is constantly complimenting you?

A male friend of mine, who told me he liked me recently, started calling me Sunshine, said I was "full of sunshine and happiness" and a "ray of sunshine". We said we liked each other a few weeks ago after flirting/being friends for a year, and working together for a couple years. But we live far away from each other, so we sort of agreed it's not practical for something to happen. Now what? I'm not sure where he is going with this. I would love for something to happen, but unfortunately, we live 2000 miles away, I have a child from a previous relationship, so it's not like I can up and go anywhere now.
