Is it suspicious if a guy showers you with compliments?

Doesn't this mean that this guy is a player and is just looking to get laid.. I met this guy on social media and he texted me every day from morning to evening and complimented me day and night and then suddenly one day he ghosted me and decided to cut all contact without any explanation. My theory is some guys use it as technique to get what they want (sex) by being the perfect prince charming, they will even plan the future with you and make you feel like they are the one! When it takes even longer or seems like they won't get it, they will ghost or withdrawal completely. It is never about you, its about them winning the game. What's your opinion?

Not necessarily suspicious. In very rare cases, I can be really, I mean really complimenting, but I don’t usually do at all.
