Is it weird to randomly compliment a guy?

Basically I’ve been talking to this kinda dorky guy and I’m not sure if he realizes (at least to me) he’s really hot. I’ve heard I’m out of his league by friends and family but I disagree and hope he doesn’t share that sentiment with them. I just don’t know if it’d weird him out if I said something about his looks out the blue cause he’s kind of a shy guy.

You say you've been talking to him. I don't understand why it would be weird. The real question is: How are you going to be with this guy if he's so shy? The answer: You'll have to ask him out. You say you've been talking to him, so you must know something that he likes. Center the date around that. Oh, & make sure not to become shy yourself because then you won't get anywhere. & don't worry, he won't pack up & change area codes because a woman complimented him.

1% Chance - "Ewww. Did she just compliment me... on my looks? I 'm soOo weirded-out right now!"

Guys like when women make the first move. It shows confidence & takes away the ambiguity. Confidence & communication are sexy. We like compliments from women because we hardly get them to our faces, especially compared to women.

If the compliment seems too random, you gotta set it up first. Find a reason to do the compliment or tell me the compliment you want to give him & I'll tell you how to set it up. 😉

Hi, again! Sorry for the tardiness. Here you go. Here are some ways you can tell him he's handsome. Feel free to modify them to your own personal liking. Good luck.

I don’t know if you 2 wear glasses, but this works if at least one of you does. Say this when there’s a brief silence in the conversation.
"You know what, take your glasses off real quick. I wanna see something.“
If you can bring your chair close to his, then do so. Face him & get sorta close to look into his eyes.
Say “Wow…”
This pause after the wow is important because he might say “What?” This way you draw in his curiosity.
You then say “Your eyes are amazing… You know, we were both looking at each other through glasses this whole time. This is the first time I've ever seen your eyes with my own actual naked eyes. Wow, they’re quite attractive. You’re a handsome guy."

The next time you say something & he’s like “Really?” that’s when you say “Oh, yeah. I don't just say that to every handsome guy I meet, you know. Just you.” If the tension is too thick for you, you can give a little wink. It can even be a silly over the top wink that makes you both laugh, if you want.

See if you can work this phrase somewhere into the conversation. “Well, I mean, you’re a very funny, well-to-do, handsome guy, so I don’t see why not.”
If he’s not funny or well-to-do or whatever, just trade them out for “intelligent” or whatever else he is. You get the idea.

When the conversation moves to his favorite TV show or movie series he’s into say this.
“You know, you could be one of those guys in that movie series you like so much. I mean, you’re a handsome guy, so why not, right?”
You can also use this while looking through his car magazine. Say this.
“You know, you could be one of these guys in this magazine. You’re a handsome guy, so why not, right?”

Oh, one more came to mind. Get a friend to call you on your phone while your talking to him in person.
Take the call & say "Hello... Oh, hi... Me? Oh, I'm just sitting here talking to a very handsome man... Yep, he looks like one of those guys on the CW... Mmm-hmm... So, anyways what are you doing?"
Now, when you're complimenting him, you can be looking at him with a little smirk & a wink or just be looking elsewhere if that's too much. But, yeah, this is a slick way to do it, too. Good luck!

Not bad, but unusual- and if he's a shyer guy, not outgoing or gregarious, he's probably even LESS used to being complimented. That doesn't mean you shouldn't do it, though; just that you should think it through a little beforehand.

Guys typically don't put nearly as much time and effort into their appearances as girls do, so telling him "I think you're cute" not only won't mean as much to him as it would to you, but may actually put him on edge, since he'll think you're trying to manipulate him into something. Start with something more related to what he does, like "that was an impressive [thing he did]" or "that's a beautiful [thing he made]". Once gets used to the idea that you like and appreciate his efforts, he'll be more open to "I think you're good-looking".

The only way to find out is to do it. I know it’s not the answer you want but at the end of the day, it’s you who has to find the courage to compliment him, and you who has to deal with whatever the aftermath of that revelation would be.

And even then guys don't typically get compliments so I say fuck it go for it. If he gets weirded out. Then you never had a chance anyway

It’s fine. Men aren’t going to accuse you of sexual harassment for giving them a compliment. He may be caught off guard by it but that’s cause a majority of men don’t receive compliments from women. Even dudes in relationships. So yes he may be caught off guard by it.

Trust me no guy in the world would think negatively of a girl especially a good-looking one complimenting him on his appearance. Likely it will boost his confidence slightly and he will start to like you. We men hardly every get compliments.

It's not weird. It's just not done. So understand when a woman does it there's almost always an ulterior motive for doing so. So naturally a guy will be suspicious.
