Look, it's not about the present. It's not entirely about him not getting me anything. But for weeks, he kept going on about how I would love my present. I even saw his To-Do list about the people he needed to get presents for; with my name on there.
He got his family presents: that's wonderful! He should! He also got my friend a present: okay, he's not even close with my friend, but fine. He tells me on Christmas Eve how he did not get me (his girlfriend of almost 3 years) nothing for Christmas and how he didn't have money to get me anything. He said he would make it up to me, and he kept telling me how much of an awful person he is and how awful he feels.
I don't understand the lying. I don't like being lied to unless this is his way of playing around or trying to see a certain reaction out of me which would be mean and childish. I would think we wouldn't be playing games with each other this far in the relationship.
Again, it's not even about getting anything or the lack of. I just don't like being played at. I'm trying to understand if he thought telling me he couldn't get me anything would be worst than playing me along and then eventually telling me.
